Thank you everyone who spread the word and answered the call to donate their old soccer equipment. The photo above is Anne-Marie with this morning’s haul. All the equipment above will go back with her to her village in Western Africa where she is working for the Peace Corps.
Well done Alameda!
The San Jose Earthquakes have reserved a block of seats at their September 27th match so that we can all get inspired and raise money for the club. Invite your friends, family, neighborhood baker and extended cousins for what should be an excellent summer evening activity.
Avaya Stadium is the Earthquake’s brand-spanking-new home about an hour’s drive down in San Jose. The game is on Sunday so traffic shouldn’t be too bad.
Visit their ticket site or click the banner above and enter the promo code (alamedasc) to purchase tickets in ASC’s block of seats in Section 123 at Avaya Stadium for the Quakes September 27th match against Salt Lake City. $5 of each ticket sold goes back to Alameda SC as a fundraiser.
When Anne-Marie Mitchell was younger, she played with the Alameda Soccer Club. Now she’s a Peace Corps volunteer in Africa and is returning home to visit Alameda. While here, Anne-Marie is asking for donations of old soccer balls, jerseys, or other equipment to take back with her to her village Africa.
The kids adore the sport but don’t always have the equipment they need to play. Of particular need are soccer balls (the ones they play with are always deflating) but anything else you can spare will be appreciated.
I’ll send details to your coaches on where they can drop off donations so bring your old equipment to your practice or games so they can drop it off. Anne-Marie will be here through May 12th so please get everything to you coach in the next week or two so I can get them to Anne-Marie by May 10th or so.
